Giving a lecture to 9th graders

Hello class, today we will be learning about how a battery uses energy when it has been charged. So when you recharge a battery electrical energy from the charger gets implemented into the battery it becomes stored chemical energy. If said battery is hooked up to a light bulb with aligator connectors, that stored chemical energy turns into elecrtical energy that surges through the aligator connectors and into the light bulb making it light up. That is how energy from a battery changes and works to power things when using alligator connectors.

Bottle flipping lab

We did the bottle flipping lab and my team decided to see how the height the bottle is flipped from affects how many times the bottle lands. We filled the bottle halfway with watter and flipped it from one meter in the air, then one meter and 25 centimeters, one meter and 50 centimeters from the ground, and finally, one meter and 27 centimeters in the air.

My claim is that when the hight you flip the bottle from increases the amount of times the bottle will land upright will decrease.

My evidence is that when we flipped the bottle from one meter it landed twice, when we tossed it from one meter 25 centimeters it landed once and when we tossed it from one meter and 50 and 75 centimeters it landed zero times.

I think this happened because  when we flipped the bottle from ahigjer altitude gravity affected it more and made the bottle bounce when it hit the ground.

My evidence supports my claim because the higher we flipped the bottle the more times it landed on it’s side instead of landing upright.
